sorry to have angered some of you…

hi everyone! we are home and the cruise was wonderful! 26 lovely days with only two rough nights in the bunch! the ta was pretty danged smooth!

now i know i owe some apologies here. i got angry at todd in the beginning of the cruise for blaming something on john. i posted it in my blog and then it got copied and pasted elsewhere including here. todd DID blame john for errors but in the end he turned out to be a great cruise director and i told him so personally. i told him that he earned my respect. i was being defensive of john and i should not have published what i did. i apologize for doing so. can we now put this behind us and go forward? i hope so.

the ship is lovely. i never did quite figure out what joe farcus intended but charlie said freedom, like the statue of liberty all over. it does not have the lovely art work some of the other ships have but all in all i believe it is a beautiful ship and i would go again in a heartbeat. there are some really lovely lounges and quiet places. the casino is not too smokey, they seemed to have gotten the exhaust right on this one, but i warn you, it is cold in there! there were some high winners too.

the staff was really nice and tried very hard to please us all. i posted in my blog yesterday about us american senior citizens though. i was really embarrassed by the group so many times. for example after a show when the performers would be taking their bows, the seniors would get up and leave and not applaud them in their hurry to be first to the elevators. on the new orleans show the performers leave via the isles and go to the atruim to finish the show and the rude people got in the isles to beat them out and almost didn’t let them leave! and the buffets??? don’t get me started! people, there is plenty of food on the ship and you don’t HAVE to be first!!! yeesh….

other than the passengers i loved it all. the captain made his announcement each day around eleven am and he was very friendly and joking around the ship. if you have any questions post them and i will try to answer.

Neither could the crew members – I spoke to more than one who scratched their heads as to why he designed things as he did.

The pole in the middle of the dance floor in the Swingtime is just one example of what we discussed. Couldn’t the space have been designed in such a manner as the poles were unobtrusive and contained within the seating area?

Another one that got me was the coffee bar – why didn’t he bring the bar out about six inches and incorporate the stanchion into its design instead of simply having it sitting there.

One thing I loved was the Posh dining room – we were lucky to have a table all the way in the back at the windows. I am certain that in the summer months, the view would be phenomenal.
